About Community Upliftment

Ubuntu Bakery

We are involved in a number of community upliftment projects. One such project is the Youth Crime Fighters, a group of young people who spontaneously grouped together to fight crime in Tshepisong West, feed poorer members of the community and teach youngsters basic skills such as soccer, netball, cultural dancing, drama, sewing, kwaito and gumboot dancing. AFFT helps this group with vegetables, supplements and equipment. In a joint venture between AFFT, our sponsors and YCF, they have now opened a small community bakery, Ubuntu Bakery, run from a container. This provides work for six youngsters, helps local traders and supplies most of AFFT’s bread needs.
